Digital Portfolio: The Semester Reflection
Peer Review #1

Peer Review #1

Me and my partners gave each other some helpful feedback to make our essays better. Here are the things we suggested to each other:

My partner told me to avoid making my sentences too long because long sentences can make your writing hard to follow. It is like when someone talks too fast, and you can’t catch everything they’re saying. They also said I should add more details to some parts of my writing. That means explaining things better so the readers can understand my ideas. It’s like when you’re telling a story, and you want to make sure your friends get the whole picture. My partner suggested that using examples would be a good idea. He said examples are like stories or instances that show what you mean. It’s like when you’re explaining a game, and you show how to play it with a real example. My partner said it would be interesting to discuss my evidence on why the media uses certain words when talking about immigrants. They want me to dig deeper into this and analyze it. My partner gave me some useful feedback. I encouraged him to provide a more in-depth analysis. This means for them to explain even more how their evidence connects to the main topic. I also mentioned to him that it’s important to structure sentences better. This means making sure that sentences are organized well so that readers can easily understand what they’re saying. I also talked to them about the importance of citing authors. Citing means giving credit to the people whose ideas you use in your writing. Lastly, I pointed out that sentences should flow smoothly from one to the next. This means that when you’re writing, one idea should lead to the next one logically. It’s like telling a story where each part connects to the one before it. My partner and I gave each other helpful advice to make our writing clearer and more enjoyable to read. I talked about using shorter sentences, adding more details and examples, analyzing the media’s word choices, providing in-depth explanations, structuring sentences better, citing authors, and maintaining a logical flow in your writing. These tips will help us become better writers and communicators.
